My name is Roula Karras-Abajian. I am one of the Reading Room teachers. I am married with two wonderful children that love coming to “mom’s school” and my students always get to meet them. Reading is one of my passions and I love to hear what others think about when reading. Since I have worked at Lincoln Middle School for many years, I have been able to watch my students develop into successful young adults. It also amazes me how much I learn from my students, as well. I graduated from National Louis University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Language Arts. A few years later I graduated from University of Illinois, Champaign, Urbana, with a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Additionally, I went to DePaul University and finished with a degree in Educational Leadership. I am also one of the cheerleading coaches and Scholastic Bowl sponsors where I am able to connect with the students outside the academic arena.
